Cream Productions, an award-winning multi-media production house that creates original content for television, film, podcast, and gaming, today announced the upcoming release of its new virtual reality title Raze Vol. 1, a satirical puzzle platformer launching in August 2025 on Meta (Quest 3 and 3s) and Steam VR.
The game is headlined by Grammy Award-winning musician Lzzy Hale, lead singer and guitarist of Halestorm. She voices the titular hero Raze, a ’90s-styled punk rock guitarist who is accidentally zapped by her guitar pedal and crushed by her stack at the same time. She wakes up trapped in a bizarre world run by satirical influencers. Gamers collaborate with Raze to solve puzzles through a multi-level narrative campaign to escape!
They may find themselves platforming Raze through obstacles, freezing lava to rock using one of Raze’s power arms, or may be instructed by Raze to drink a transformational potion and enter her POV to control her hands and play differently. As well, players gift Raze’s mix tapes that start arena battles where they get to rock out to the game’s contemporary indie alt jukebox while kicking ass.
Building on VR experiences found in games like Moss and Red Matter and inspired by Mad Magazine, SCTV, and Saturday Night Live’s culture-jabbing style, Raze Vol.1 is an edgy, intelligent, fun-to-play satire focused on themes of DIY creative independence, anti-consumerism, and doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to poking fun at influencer culture.

“Raze isn’t just another badass female lead; she’s a smart-mouthed satirical reaction to a system built on dampening people’s self-esteem and individuality. She speaks for everyone who ever felt silenced or swallowed by the system yet still finds their own way of screaming back,” says Hale.
Cream has cast prominent VR YouTubers and social media influencers KaleahVR, VR Central, GingasVR, and Matteo311 as the game’s comedic influencer villains. With a combined online reach of more than one million VR-dedicated followers, these creators help amplify the game’s rollout and ongoing community engagement.
“This game is part of a larger strategy to grow our digital slate with bold original IP,” says Johnny Kalangis, VP of Digital at Cream Productions and creative director of the title.
“Raze Vol. 1 was built on the shoulders of the DIY alternative music and art cultures of the 80s and 90s. It’s a character-driven experience and has the potential to grow a community across platforms. From Lzzy Hale as a spokesperson and great human, to the active DIY bands we approached for music and community features like the VRChat bar, everything was designed to be inclusive and invite deeper engagement. People need places where they can be who they really are, like what they like, and feel good about it.”
Raze Vol. 1’s original soundtrack includes music from a roster of independent, female-led rock bands such as Bad Waitress, Slaughterhouse, Half Past Four ,NIIS and Winona Fighter. The game’s stylized comic-strip world includes Clampdown, an in-game dive bar that doubles as a social location in VRChat, giving fans a space to meet and extend their experiences inside VR’s largest open social platform. Recording begins in February 2025, with additional announcements and activations planned throughout the spring and summer.
Raze Vol. 1 is executive produced by David Brady, Kate Harrison, and Johnny Kalangis. Dan Magnus serves as producer, with Kalangis also serving and Creative Director and Writer.
Raze Vol. 1 builds on Cream Productions’ investment in interactive storytelling following earlier immersive projects, including Eli Roth’s Haunted House: Trick VR Treat with Vanessa Hudgens, Dark Threads, Survivorman VR, and A Curious Mind with Dominic Monaghan.
