September 3, 2025 – MUBI, the global distributor, streaming service and production company is pleased to announce the streaming release date for the acclaimed indie TV series Hal & Harper from actor-filmmaker Cooper Raiff (Cha Cha Real Smooth). The eight-episode family drama, co-starring Lili Reinhart (Riverdale, Hustlers) and Mark Ruffalo (Mickey 17, Poor Things), will debut its first two episodes on MUBI’s streaming platform on 19 October 2025. New episodes will premiere weekly on Sundays through 30 November 2025. Hal & Harper is financed and distributed worldwide by Lionsgate, which also oversaw the project’s global sale.

The series centers on two codependent siblings Hal & Harper, who are facing big life changes. The pair’s intimacy is built on a lifetime of inside jokes and shared pains, portrayed via flashbacks where Raiff and Reinhart play the elementary school-aged versions of themselves. As their father, Ruffalo’s charm belies a chasm of guilt, which is at the root of all that Hal & Harper is trying to uncover.

Hal & Harper had its World Premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, and screened at France’s Series Mania, Europe’s biggest TV festival where Reinhart won the Best Actress Award for her performance in the series. The series had its New York Premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival in June.

The series is created and directed by Raiff and features an ensemble cast, including Betty Gilpin (GLOW), Havana Rose Liu (Bottoms)Addison Timlin (StartUp), and Alyah Chanelle Scott (The Sex Lives of College Girls). The project is produced by Thomas Hartmann with Cooper Raiff, Clementine Quittner, Lili Reinhart, Daniel Lewis, and Addison Timlin executive producing.
