PORTLAND, Ore. 04/24/2025 — The multiple Eisner Award winning Bitter Root series—by David F. Walker, Chuck Brown, and Sanford Greene—has sparked fan imagination and kicked off an immediate sell-out of Bitter Root: The Next Movement #1 at the distributor level. The highly buzzed about new issue is being rushed back to print by Image Comics this week in order to keep up with demand.

“The entire Bitter Root team has been excited to be in action, and we’re overwhelmed and humbled by the positive reception we’ve received so far,” said the Bitter Root creative team in a joint statement about the reprint. “With so many incredible titles for comic readers and retailers to choose from, we are deeply appreciative for all the love Bitter Root is getting.”

This explosive new story arc brings the Civil Rights Movement to life for readers when a group of activists go missing during the turbulent times of the 1960s. A new generation of the Sangerye family must face a menace far worse than anything their ancestors ever encountered. The monstrous jinoo—creatures born out of hate and racism—have evolved into a threat that few people are willing to acknowledge, and even fewer know how to fight.

Bitter Root: The Next Movement #1, second printing (Lunar Code 0325IM844) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, March 26.

Bitter Root: The Next Movement #2 (Lunar Code 0225IM318) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, April 30.

Bitter Root: The Next Movement will also be available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
