Peacock is excited to announce the release of the official teaser for “TEACUP,” an intense new horror-thriller series from James Wan’s Atomic Monster, featuring a stellar cast led by Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman. Set to premiere on Thursday, October 10, 2024, with the first two episodes, “TEACUP” will release two episodes weekly through Halloween, promising a suspense-filled lead-up to the holiday.

About “TEACUP”:
“TEACUP” follows a group of strangers in rural Georgia who are forced to come together to face a mysterious and terrifying threat. The series, inspired by Robert McCammon’s New York Times bestselling novel Stinger, takes a more intimate, character-driven approach under the creative vision of writer and executive producer Ian McCulloch. Known for his work on “Yellowstone” and “Chicago Fire,” McCulloch reimagines the epic scale of McCammon’s novel into a “keyhole epic,” focusing on the depth and complexity of individual experiences.

Directed by E.L. Katz (“The Haunting of Bly Manor,” “Channel Zero”) and produced by Atomic Monster’s James Wan (“The Conjuring Universe,” “Archive 81,” “M3GAN”), “TEACUP” blends horror, mystery, and family drama into a gripping narrative that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. With each episode, layers of the story unfold, revealing a chilling puzzle-box mystery that challenges perceptions of humanity and fear.

Creative Insights

Ian McCulloch shared his journey in adapting Stinger into “TEACUP”: “When Atomic Monster first approached me about creating a series adaptation, I was hesitant. Stinger is a gargantuan novel, but I was drawn to its razor-sharp premise and the relatable family at its heart. I envisioned a stripped-down version—like an acoustic take on a Radiohead song—that retains the core of what makes a great story but focuses on the intimate details and character dynamics.”

James Wan also reflected on the adaptation: “After reading Stinger, we knew it had the potential to be something special. Ian’s vision brought a fresh, darkly atmospheric approach that remains true to the novel’s essence while exploring new dimensions. With a talented cast and a strong creative team, ‘TEACUP’ is set to deliver a truly captivating experience.”
