LOS ANGELES 08/22/2024 – Skybound Comet, the original graphic novel imprint aimed at Young Adult (Ages 12+) and Middle Grade (Ages 8-12) audiences, today announced its star-studded lineup of all-new OGNs launching in Summer and Fall 2025 everywhere books are sold.
The latest round of Skybound Comet titles promises heartfelt and heart-pounding YA adventures starring three unforgettable female leads. Clementine Book Three (ISBN: 978-1-5343-9737-8), the highly anticipated and heart-wrenching finale of the Eisner-Award nominated YA trilogy by Tillie Walden (On a Sunbeam, Spinning), coming in June 2025; Family Force V (SBN: 978-1-5343-4033-6), the prismatic YA graphic novel about your new favorite alien fighting family by Matt Braly (Disney’s Amphibia) and artist Ainsworth Lin, coming in May 2025; and Pizza Witch (ISBN: 978-1-5343-2796-2), the graphic novel that cooks up a delicious world of magic for a wide range of readers by Sarah Graley (Glitch, Our Super Adventure) and Stef Purenins (Our Super Adventure), coming in September 2025.
“Skybound is home to some of the most exciting voices in comics and our 2025 Skybound Comet line-up is no exception,” said Alex Antone, Editorial Director at Skybound. “We can’t wait for young readers to fall in love with Moon Trooper Maise and Roxy the Pizza Witch, just like they fell in love with Ava (Ava’s Demon), Wix (Scurry), and of course, Clementine.”
From the world of Robert Kirkman’s THE WALKING DEAD comes the epic conclusion of Clementine, in which Tillie Walden holds absolutely nothing back. Clementine finally has it all–a safe place to live, a girlfriend, and even a cat…but nothing lasts forever. And when Clementine suffers a loss unlike anything she’s ever faced, a new mentor called The Gardener offers her a new family, and a new way of living… but at what cost?
“Clementine Book 3 is one of the darkest and most interesting stories I’ve ever written,” said Tillie Walden. “I’m so excited for everyone to be able to be with Clementine as her story comes to a close!”
In Family Force V, fighting alien kaiju with your family on a Friday night is a totally normal part of being a teenager…right? Well, it is for Maise who, despite her protests, must continue the family legacy of keeping the world safe, all while trying to get good grades, impress her crush, and balance extracurriculars. But when tragedy strikes, Maise is forced to figure out how to be herself when she feels destined to be someone else for not only her family, but the world.
“FFV is an exploration of grief, responsibility, and identity all wrapped up in a loving homage to one of my favorite genres,” said Matt Braly. “I’m absolutely thrilled to be releasing this book with Skybound Comet and can’t wait for readers to meet Maise and her family.”
“Demon aliens, animesque butt-kicking action, and cringy teenage antics all wrapped around a squishy heartfelt center,” said Ainsworth Lin. “Just a great time all around!”
In Pizza Witch, Roxy wants nothing more than to become the best Pizza Witch that’s ever existed! But having to deal with a boss who couldn’t care less about teaching her magic and parents who don’t exactly support her dream has brought Roxy to her breaking point. Well, at least until her boss reveals that he’s been prepping her for a LEGENDARY magic Pizza Artifact quest. Is this finally the moment Roxy’s been waiting for? Accompanied by her BFF black cat familiar, George, will Roxy get to learn advanced Pizza Magic and maybe even find time for romance along the way?
“We can’t wait for readers to meet Roxy! She’s a trainee witch with a big heart. She might not always take the easiest route to what she wants but she’s always ready to take the most interesting and chaotic one!” said Sarah Graley. “We’re excited to share the beginning of her journey!”
“Pizza Witch is a story filled with all of our favorite things; magic, adventure and, of course, pizza! It’s also a story all about finding your own path and sticking with it, even when things get hard,” said Stef Purenins. “Roxy might get knocked down, but she always finds a way to get back up.
Skybound Comet also recently announced the upcoming release of TRANSFORMERS: Worst Bot Ever: Meet Ballpoint, the story that tells the misadventures of the bot who is mightier than the sword, available July 2025 for Middle Grade Readers.
