NEW YORK, NY (October 15, 2025) – Tickets are on sale now for Mamoru Oshii’s rarely screened early masterpiece ANGEL’S EGG, which comes to theaters in an all-new 4K restoration supervised by director Oshii. GKIDS, the Academy Award®-winning producer and distributor of acclaimed and artist-driven animation from around the world, announced that the highly anticipated feature will hold advance screenings at Dolby Cinema® locations on November 12, ahead of the film’s first-ever nationwide release on November 19 & 20. Tickets are on sale now for early access screenings at select Dolby Cinema at AMC Theatres locations across the country, with additional theater locations being added throughout the month. In tandem, a brand new Dolby Cinema exclusive poster is being released to celebrate the film’s restoration.

First released directly to home video in 1985, the film was produced by Tokuma Shoten and is a creative collaboration between internationally acclaimed director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell), who wrote and directed the feature, and revered artist Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D). The film beautifully intertwines Oshii’s thematic reflections on philosophy and theology, with Amano’s distinctive ink painting style, culminating in an arrestingly beautiful hand-drawn allegorical fantasy. The 4K restoration has held an extensive festival debut prior to its theatrical rollout, having debuted at Cannes International Film Festival, with subsequent premieres at Fantasia Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, and New York Film Festival.
At Dolby Cinema, every detail comes to life in a fully Dolby-designed environment that provides the stunning picture quality, powerful brightness, and ultra-vivid colors of Dolby Vision®, paired with the immersive, moving audio of Dolby Atmos, providing more details, depth, and clarity in your favorite movies. This powerful combination transforms the viewing experience and transports moviegoers directly into the story. Guests can also enjoy spacious, reservable recliners throughout the auditorium.
