National Infertility Awareness Week (April 24th -30th) is a movement that was founded in 1989 by The National Infertility Association. Its mission is to empower and change the conversation around infertility.
At the forefront of this movement is Los Angeles-based Dr. Shahin Ghadir. As the founding partner of the Southern California Reproductive Center, as well as one of the top reproductive endocrinologists worldwide, he has dedicated his career to helping people overcome their reproductive challenges and infertility issues by achieving their goals of having a family – both traditionally and within the LGBTQ community. He is currently positioned as a top physician for egg freezing, sought out by women all over the world for his skill set in this highly coveted procedure and success rate.
Currently in the United States, 1 in every 8 women are experiencing fertility issues. Dr. Ghadir’s goal is to create awareness and remove the stigma and barriers that stand in the way of building families. Anyone can be challenged when it comes to starting a family regardless of race, religion, sexuality, or economic status. Infertility doesn’t discriminate, but together we can change the narrative. His patients include Lance Bass and Michael Turchin, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita, Jamie Chung and Bryan Greenberg, Mercedes Javid, and Scheana Shay.
He is currently an assistant clinical professor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and at Keck School of Medicine at USC and recently launched a podcast, The Fertile Life which can be heard on Dear Media.
