Supernatural fans flocked to Long Beach Comic Expo 2017 to catch the Reunion Panel of Ghostfacers with all the original cast. Present were A.J. Buckley (Ed Zeddmore), Travis Wester (Harry Spangler), Brittany Ishibashi (Maggie Zeddmore), Austin Basis (Kenny Spruce), Mircea Monroe (Ambyr), and Dustin Milligan (Alan J. Corbett). The first episode of the web series aired in 2008.
The panelist discussed how they went from a one-off bit in a season 3 episode of Supernatural to regularly filming their reality ghost-hunting show. Western emphasized how the experience challenged the actors and their skills because the network allowed them the freedom to create their jokes and operate the cameras.
The crowd was eager to inquire if there would be a return of the parody show. The entire cast would be eager to provide new content to the SPN family, but approval is needed from The CW. Although there was momentum and backing from showrunner Eric Kripke, “unfortunately, it was just before its time,” Buckley expressed. If the show were to return, Basis said fans would find his character “living in a tree hiding from the Russians.”
