January 2025 Game Releases: What’s Coming to Your Console?

Author: Greg Lozano

A bit different than the previous year with the game releases. Rather than giving a little blurb of each game, titles will be broken up into categories so that gamers will be allowed to quickly search for their system of preference and see the games that release for that system. Titles will be given a link to the game as before and descriptions of their genre will be listed for those interested. Please note that the gaming industry and companies may and can change the release date as this has occurred in the past. With that out of the way, below contains the list of games that will be releasing in January 2025. Please be sure to comment on which games you’re looking forward to the most and note some of your favorite games of your favorite franchise. Games that release upon multiple platforms will be noted in each of their respective categories, and if a link cannot be found to the game’s website, an alternative will be provided to try connecting as many people to the games as possible.

While almost every system has practically the same games, or are receiving ports from previous generations or systems, PC is the only one this month offering a first time release (even if it’s early access). Most titles are pretty good. There aren’t exactly any bad choices or things that I would overlook, however, there also isn’t a lot I am curious about or looking forward to. These are mostly titles that you know you’ll have fun with, but won’t change the industry. I will say that I do have an interest in Hyper Light Breaker, but I feel as though I would get more enjoyment from the game if I played the original, which was award winning.

There are lots of RPGs coming out in January, so if any of these were missed in the past, this is a great opportunity to see what made them so great on previous consoles.

Are you interested in any of these games, or did you end up receiving such a great haul during the holidays that you won’t be thinking about gaming for a while?

Please comment below if you enjoy the new format or feel that there were aspects from the previous format that you would like to see return.
