THE LAST MERMAID JUST KEEPS SWIMMING—ISSUES #1 & #2 BOTH RUSHED BACK TO PRINT

Author: Newsroom

PORTLAND, Ore. 04/25/2024 — The Last Mermaid by Multiple Eisner, Harvey, and Ignatz Award winning writer/artist Derek Kirk Kim has sold out yet again at the distributor. This week, both issues #1 and #2 of the popular new series are being rushed back to print in order to keep up with escalating customer demand.

The Last Mermaid marks the highly anticipated return of Kim to the comics scene after a decade. The epic science fiction series introduces readers to a lone mermaid, surviving in a mecha as she journeys across a dystopian, drought laden futurescape. Fans formed an immediate attachment to the sidekick character, a mischievous Axolotl.

This last mermaid roams an endless wasteland on a quest beyond reason. To press ever onward, she must survive the interminable stretches between tiny pockets of water, the roaming bands of cybernetic cannibals, and the fearsome mutant beasts. What propels her forward to take such a risk?

The Last Mermaid #1, third printing (Lunar Code 0324IM876) and The Last Mermaid #2, second printing (Lunar Code 0324IM877) will both be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, May 22.

The Last Mermaid #3 Cover A Derek Kirk Kim (Lunar Code 0324IM255) and The Last Mermaid #3 Cover B 1:10 copy incentive by Ethan Young (Lunar Code 0324IM256) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, May 8.
