Wild Honesty: The Game That Brings Smiles and Strengthens Friendships

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned in life is to take a moment each day to make someoneā€™s life better. Giving someone a reason to smile not only creates a euphoric feeling within you, but more importantly, it gives that person a memory that might stay with them forever. In this day and age, reasons to smile can seem hard to come by, but luckily, thereā€™s Wild Honesty, a game that allows people to bond in ways that might just bring a smile. It’s a simple system that lets you and other participants engage in meaningful conversationsā€”whether itā€™s casual friendship banter or deeper, intimate questions that strengthen connections. Whether you spend 10 minutes or a half-hour, this is a mental workout that will put smiles on your friendsā€™ faces.

For 2-5 players, those familiar with Jackbox-style social games will feel right at home. The host can set it up as a couch group session or use a streaming service like Discord to connect players. Everyone will be able to see the content on one screen and follow along on their phones. Itā€™s important to note that if people are playing virtually, theyā€™ll need a separate screen from their phone. If you switch between screens on your phoneā€™s browser, it may disconnect you from the game, and thereā€™s no way to reconnect, which we experienced during our testing.

Players can set the level of intimacy for the questions, ranging from casual acquaintances to best friends. You can also choose how many questions will be asked, with an estimate of how long each session will take based on the number of questions.

When the game starts, an interesting ice breaker plays: the sound of an animal, and everyone has to guess which creature makes it. (Iā€™d love to see a PokĆ©mon mod with a ā€œwhoā€™s that PokĆ©mon,ā€ but thatā€™s just me.) Afterward, a question is displayed, and thereā€™s unlimited time for everyone to answer, letting the group control the pace. People can be as open or as brief as they like, which is one of the most perfect expressions of friendship.

There isn’t much beyond the collection of questions. While you can choose which categories will be asked, the game doesnā€™t offer other types of party activities. But thatā€™s not a bad thing at all. In fact, it’s encouraging that itā€™s so straightforward because its mission is to build stronger connections with your friends.

Looking back, if youā€™re struggling to improve someoneā€™s day, this is a great way to make someone smile. Wild Honesty feels like a segment Iā€™d love to add at the end of my streaming sessions to learn more about the viewers who take the time to watch me. Iā€™m excited to play this again with other friends, catch up on life, and deepen our connections.

Have you played Wild Honesty? What was your favorite question or moment that made you smile? Drop it in the chat below and letā€™s keep spreading the kindness! If you havenā€™t played yet, grab some friends and give it a tryā€”you never know what meaningful conversations youā€™ll have.
