PORTLAND, Ore. 10/22/2026 — W. Maxwell Prince and Martín Morazzo’s highly anticipated, Ice Cream Man #1: Chocolate/Vanilla Twist, featuring a special decoder lens and interactive cover treatment, has sold out completely at the distributor level. Image will treat fans to a second helping of this special hair-raising issue by fast-tracking a reprint this week, in order to keep up with increasing demand for the special experience.
The Ice Cream Man #1: Chocolate/Vanilla Twist second printing will once again feature an interactive version of Ice Cream Man #1 cover art—this time, the second printing cover to the inaugural issue's original 2018 sellout—which will reveal new hidden images/messaging when peered at using the decoder lens.
"What luck, to have folks experience our first ever issue anew, behind one of the coolest ever cover gags in comic book history," said Prince. "And now, those that missed out last week can have their own novel experience, with this reimagined version of our original issue #1 second printing cover… which I suppose makes this a reprinted redo of the reprint to our redone reprinting… or something. Anyhow, thanks to everyone still coming out for our particular brand of weird; we're so excited to get back to monthly issues, and finally reach The Big 50 this May. See ya there."
Morazzo added: "This feels like 2018 all over again, but close to 50 issues after! It's completely crazy and we cannot thank our readers enough!"
This edition also boasts remastered lettering by Good Old Neon and a BRAND NEW Ice Cream Man short story brought to life by the entire creative team.
The pages of this Chocolate/Vanilla-Twist-comic-book-confection will be tucked behind a “hidden” treatment of the cover art …which will have focal decoder technology to make the Ice Cream Man disappear! But don't worry, sweeties. To bring him back, simply grab your included 'Lookety Split' Decoder Lens and unlock the original cover art…now with an added sprinkling of secret messages and pictures! It’s comix-cover-acrobatics as you’ve never quite seen before!
It’s a celebration of Ice Cream Man befitting its legacy: weird, inexplicable…and cool as all-get-out. Fans should grab their copy (before they, too, disappear), and get ready for the heady, steady march to the milestone Ice Cream Man #50 issue arriving in 2027.
Ice Cream Man #1: Chocolate/Vanilla Twist second printing (UPC: 70985304894700112) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, December 2.
