PORTLAND, Ore. 11/05/2026 — From fan-favorite creator Tom Scioli (Space Opera Xanadax, Gødland) comes an all-new, intergalactic tale of revenge in the upcoming The Myth of 8-Opus. This ongoing series is set to launch in February 2027 from Image Comics.

The action-packed series premiere will also feature variant covers by Erik Larsen (Savage Dragon) and Jim Rugg (Omen-Bound) as well as a D’orc Team-up variant by Scioli himself.

For centuries, intergalactic peace was kept by the warrior known only as 8-Opus! Ten years ago, he disappeared and chaos reigned supreme. Buried in a techno-cosmic sarcophagus, within a crimson pyramid on a hellish grailworld, kept alive by a combination of science, sorcery, and spite, 8-Opus breaks free, vowing revenge on whoever put him there. If he's going to survive, 8-Opus will have to fight a host of demi-gargoyles, old foes, and even the old friends who've abandoned him to his fate.

"I'm working around the clock to make the most exciting comic of my career, taking every lesson I’ve ever learned and applying it to full effect. I can’t wait ‘til you see this," said Scioli. "There’s nothing on earth I’d rather be doing than writing and drawing this book. I’m having the time of my life and I think you will too. It’s a tale of alien worlds, strange creatures, unbeatable foes, trials, triumphs and human drama. This is the sort of thing you can only do in comics. I can honestly say you've never seen a comic quite like this. Its a fast-paced thriller that doesn't let go. A true comic book roller coaster ride that asks some deep questions."

Part god, part man… trapped in a hellish world of maniacs and monsters, 8-Opus battles for justice in this one-of-kind story that readers won’t want to miss.

The Myth of 8-Opus will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, February 24:
- Cover A by Scioli
