First Fridays: AMPLIFIED begins March 7 with an evening focused on “Healing Sounds.” Join us after hours as we explore the science and art of sound healing with topical discussions, signature cocktails, live music, and more.
This season welcomes back neuroscientist and science communicator Dr. Yewande Pearse to moderate First Fridays discussions in the new NHM Commons Theater. Our special guest this month is Dr. AZA Allsop, a neuroscientist and psychiatrist specializing in music and mindfulness. Together, they’ll dive into the science of vibrations, cymatics, and entrainment, revealing how sound influences our well-being.
Live music includes performances by VÉRITÉ and Kelcey Ayer, along with tunes from local Los Angeles DJ Que Madre and Les the DJ. This month’s Sensory Lounge will offer soothing sound baths and meditative experiences to create moments of calm and restoration.
First Fridays guests can also expect special NHM collections displays, evening tours, and various food trucks. The event runs 5-10 pm, with tickets on sale for $25 each. Members receive two free tickets, but advanced reservations are recommended as limited tickets are available at the door.
