THE WALKING DEAD INTERACTIVE BOOTH

San Diego Comic-Con 2016

As usual, the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 convention floor was packed with impressive displays at various booths. However, AMC’s interactive promotional display for The Walking Dead stood out. They brought one of the year’s most unique (and relevant) booth setups.

Fans gleefully stood in line all weekend long for a chance to kneel in front of a wax replica of Negan and his potential victims in the same pose that left fans with a huge cliffhanger in the season six finale. The other models included the main cast characters Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Aaron, Negan, Carl, Glenn, Maggie, Rosita, Sasha, Eugene, and Abraham. All were created by the show’s visual effects guru and executive producer Greg Nicotero.

Badge-holders weren’t the only ones excited to take photos with their favorite Alexandrian. The reproductions were so life-like that several cast members headed to the booth to take photos with their wax counterparts, showing off how insanely detailed the figures were. There were even Walker actors rooming around, ready to bite.. pose with the crowd. The Walking Dead returns to television on October 2016 and will finally answer the question: who got a close encounter with Lucille?
